Get Involved with ACT

Do I have to act to help out at ACT? NO, volunteers are needed for many areas off the stage Some opportunities during production times are ushers/distribution of programs and tickets sales. There are also opportunities to pop real theatre popcorn and sell beverages and candy in the concession stand, as well as being a concessions hawker!!

Other volunteers who want to get more closely involved with the production may want to take on directing a show, musical director, accompanist, be a stagehand, build sets, paint sets, or run the light and sound equipment The opportunities for volunteering don't end there!!  You can sew costumes, help find props, deliver posters for publicity, and so much more!!

The need for volunteers is endless!!

How do I get on stage? Audition dates are advertised on the radio, through posters distributed around town and on the HuronACT website. Typically auditions are held  eight to ten weeks prior to a production. Stage experience doesn't matter, you can be a seasoned actor or new to the stage!!

What benefits do I received from volunteering? You will meet a whole new set of friends, learn new skills, and have the satisfaction of knowing you helped to get a production on stage.

Our every growing team of volunteers donates thousands of hours of service annually both onstage and off, and we applaud them for their dedication and generosity.
